ROXANNE VICTORIA DAVIS GREENE

Roxane Davis Greene is one of the most accomplished Endurance Horse Race contestants in history. Her long and fruitful career includes:

  • 500+ Endurance race victories ;

  • 21 Tevis Cup buckles ;

  • 3 books on equestrian pursuits

Roxanne is the daughter of Everett Conley Davis, granddaughter of Mattie Lee Conley Davis, and great-granddaughter of Quartermaster Pascal Conley (who became longtime aide-de-camp of John J. Pershing beginning with his postings in New Mexico, Arizona, and South Dakota.)

Through this bloodline, she is 2x-great-granddaughter of Pascal Conley Sr., and 3x-great-granddaughter of James Conley, the stable master who managed horses for U.S. Presidents Polk, Jackson and Monroe while Head Groom at the Green Bottom Inn sporting facility in the early 1800s. Through her mother, Ellen Browning Scripps II, she is the great-granddaughter of E.W. Scripps and niece of Ellen Browning Scripps, the first.

She grew up on her family's Scripps Miramar Ranch, near San Diego. As a small child her parents introduced her to the family horse riding traditions of both her Conley and Scripps families, eventually taking part in San Diego New Year's parade in 1962.

Also a published author on horse breeding, she is a shining symbol of excellence in equestrian pursuits for both her Conley Family and Scripps Families.
